My skin felt dry and I woke up 2 days in a row with headaches.  My body was speaking to me.  Drink water, she said.

My muscles ached and daily my energy would drop around 3pm.  My body was sending me messages.  Stretch me, she said.  Move me, she said.  Circulate my blood so that I feel alive.

The sugar cravings were calling my name.  Every day after lunch I would reach for the cookies.  At night, the wine.  My body was asking for nourishment.  Feed me kindly, she said. 

When life takes over, often it is the messages our bodies send us, that remind us to listen.  Dedicating time to redirect ourselves can be invaluable.  

Every few weeks I give myself a reset, a week of mindful food preparation and feeding myself.  The work I do in those seven days stretches well beyond that time.  The pendulum swings, and with every shift, it rests closer to center.

I call it calibrating.  When we calibrate, we are left feeling full & flourished.  Those feelings carry us, and seep into every crevasse of our being and life.

In this program, we will focus on what we get to eat, delicious, beautiful, real whole foods, which are lovingly prepared.  We will not focus on cutting foods out or deprivation.  We are looking to fall in love, leading to lasting changes.

Once you have the skills to calibrate, you can do this for yourself at any time, bringing you ever closer to (the seemingly elusive) balance.
